Great so far easy to fit to the bike and comes with everything needed I will be testing it when I go away to Scotland in a month
I'm a Garmin user and have been for years but wanted to see what the hype was with the numerious Android Auto devices. The C3 is good but a bit slow compared to my Garmin, the floating Home button is anoying as I have to move it each time before I start. The selection buttons are too small for gloved fingers, when selecting an icon at the bottom of the screen it's anyone of three.
Connects easily straight out of the box, great value for money.
Removed the BMW SAT/NAV and replaced with this CarPlay unit. Used a generic version of the BMW 611656 adapter ($12 Amazon) to wire into the sat/nav OEM power supply lead. Turns on with ignition, turns off 30secs after turning off the ignition.
Time will tell if it lasts for months or years. The C3 has a pretty small screen, good enough but in hindsight I should have spent more money for a bigger screen model.
I had to fabricate my own bracket to mount to the 12mm BMW crossbar. I easily added my own boot logo image.
Boots quickly, connects to CarPlay within 30 seconds. No pressing of buttons required.
